Seven-card stud is the favorite version of poker for.....

playing in the casino. Played in the same way as five-card stud, the major difference is that the players have seven cards from which to make the best possible five-card poker hand. As such, there is much greater scope in this game for better hands and more betting. With potentially 49 cards in action should all players remain in the game for the showdown, this game in theory can be played by a maximum of seven players.

Poker- Draw poker and Stud poker

Draw Poker- In early poker games, players were dealt were......about-poker

Inearly poker games, players were dealt five cards upon which they bet, there was no provision for players to change any of this cards- it was a game of deal, bet, showdown. When the concept was introduced of allowing players, after what now became the first betting interval, to replace them, before a second round of betting took place, the game became called 'Draw Poker' to distinguish it from the earlier game, which is now not widely played at all. Nowadays the name 'Draw Poker' is retained to distingguish it from form of stud poker. It remains the most common from of poker played at home and begginers are advised to master it before attempting stud, Hold'em.
The version described first is the basic game, which might be called 'Straight Drwa Poker' but in the USA a slight variation called 'Jackpots' is so popular that it is being described as the main game, and this version as a variation, called somthing link 'Anything opens'. 'Draw' is a slight misnomer, since players do not 'draw' thier replacement card, which are dealt to them by the dealer. The game is best for between five and seven players.

Stud Poker
The main distinguishing features between Stud Poker and Draw Poker are that in stud there is no draw and most of the cards are dealt face up.
The basic game is five-card stud poker, in which there are four betting intervals. Because most of the cards are dealt face up, each player know much more about the other players' hand than in Draw Poker, giving more scope for strategy.
Because there is no Draw, it is posible to play with up to ten players, although should all ten players stay in to the showdown only two cards will not be used in the play, and 40 will be exposed the longer players might take pondering the chances of improving their hands the game could become clumsy. the game is best with six to eight players, although it is a better game than Draw Poker if there are fewer players, and can be played with plenty of action with only two players, as the film The Cincinnati kid' demonstrated.

Ranking of hand

Like many players, the first time I sat down in a public card room, I was both nervous and anxious. I was nervous to be playing at the table for the first time, but also anxious to take a seat and get those chips. Fortunately, I didn’t lose too much money at my first public game, but the way I played, I very well could have. I’d learned a few things about stud poker, but I knew very little about how to play and what to bet. Don’t make the same mistake I did. Before you head to the card club, or even to the next game with your friends, learn the following important basics of stud poker play.

Hand Rankings

Which one is higher: a straight or a flush? Does a diamond flush beat a spade flush? If you have to think about these questions for even two seconds, don’t sit down at the poker table before you’re read this section. Following is a brief description of each hand, from lowest to highest:

High Card: Simply the highest single card. A deuce is the lowest card, and an ace is the highest card in the deck.

Pair: Any two cards of the same rank, such as 3 3.

Three-of-a-Kind (Trips): Any three cards of the same rank.

Straight: Any five, unsuited cards in a sequence, such as 4 5 6 7 8.

Flush: Any five cards of the same – clubs, diamonds, hearts or spades.

Full House: A hand with a three-of-a-kind and a pair to go with it, such as three aces and two kings.

Four-of-a-Kind (Quads): Any four cards of the same rank.

Straight Flush: Five suited cards in a sequence, such as the 4 5 6 7 8 of hearts.

Royal Flush: The five highest-ranking cards suited and in order: T J Q K A. A royal flush is the best hand in poker.

When two hands are the same (when both you and your opponent have a flush, for example) you do not split the pot. The winner in such a case is determined by rank of cards. Let’s say you have a straight of 7 8 9 T J, and your opponent has a straight of T J Q K A. He wins, because his straight is to a higher card than yours. When two players hold a full house, the rank of the three like cards determines the winner. For example, let’s say you hold 4 4 4 A A, and your opponent hold K K K Q Q. Because his three kings are higher than your three fours, he wins.
